First of all, I am thankful that the Seattle Police Officer who confronted wanted killer Maurice Clemmons this morning is OK. I hope the ending of Clemmons' life will help the Lakewood Officers families and loved ones to start healing.
In 1963 the Beatles produced their first album in the U.K., Please Please Me. In the early days the Beatles didn't write all of their songs and actually covered several songs on the album, including two performed by the Shirelles. "Boys" was one of the standards that they had been performing live before recording albums, and turned out to be the first Ringo song on any Beatles album. The Beatles version is a bit of a rocker as they tried to showcase Ringo's vocal talents. I found this live Spanish version of probably an old European T.V. show to share today.
News: I discovered last night that as I move forward with treatment, Fred Hutchison Cancer Center will not be an option for a bone marrow transplant (There is a contract dispute between U.W. and the insurance company.The "Hutch" would make me pay out of contract fees which would be tremendously expensive as they say Aetna doesn't pay enough to them...) My Brother Alan is not a suitable donor for me either. I am grateful for his willingness to get tested, it just wasn't a match. If I get to remission I will have to go out of state with a national registry donor for a bone marrow transplant if I want to go further than chemo. Keep rocking!
