"Come on, let me through
I got so many things I gotta do
I got no business being here with you
this way"
Just one verse from the John Lennon song. John wrote "When I Get Home" in 1964- it was placed on The U.K. "A Hard Day's Night" and the U.S. "Something New" albums. It is known as an early rocker from the Beatles. The lyrics help me explain my desire to go home.
My fever is gone and two out of three of my important blood counts are on the rise. Doctor Senecal told me this morning if the white count goes up again tomorrow (into normal range) I will finally be released to go home. I will receive a platelet transfusion today, and have every expectation I will be done with chemo side effects for a long time. Yeah!
Live Happy- Greg
Welcome to my Blog
I chose the title of this blog to go with a Beatles song from 1969. The title made sense in October of 2009 because fighting cancer might be a drawn out challenge. I take inspiration where I can, and hope to motivate with my musings about music, my status and anything else related to life. Anyone can post comments; no sign in or account is needed, just click on the comments section towards the bottom of the post and write me a note. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. Live Happy- Greg

Greg,we hope you are home soon. Are the Braves and Mariners for real? Love Dad and Alice
My thoughts and prayers are with you!! Think happy thoughts!! I am thinking you will be home before the end of this work week with Yvonne and Sadie!! :-) Live Strong and Happy!
Thanks for the positive words folks. I had to have my groshong catheter removed yesterday (the chest central lines used for I V's) It was the reason I was having fevers and issues. It got infected... Now I have to wait for the infection doctor and his decision to keep me or send me home with anti-fungal drugs. Greg
Thinking of you this morning. I'm so sorry you are going through all of this. I'll keep you in my prayers. Hope that they get the infection cleared up and you can go home.
Love, Cathy
I got my decision, one more day in and hopefully home on Friday. That will make it an odd seven days of mainly irratation- at least I am not in pain or very ill. No worries- Greg
Glad to know you are not in pain.....but I am sure you are stressed out with all the procedures that needed to be done in order to clear up the infection!! Best wishes for a "good to go" from your doctor!! Live Strong and Happy!
Hey Greg... sure hope you get to go home tomorrow..
I have been in contact with Carol who sent photos of the climb to the top of the Tower.. I am very IMPRESSED!
Lots of things going on over here both at work and at home. We have a new riding arena and garden, both of which will keep me occupied picking rocks for years to come :0)
Spring is here - sort of.. I had a meeting on the far east side of the Reservation today, crossed two passes and found snow and ice on both. Of course, I removed the studded tires on Monday trying to keep within the legal time lines.. which keep getting extended.
I had a close encounter with a Moose cow the other day.. she hopped out onto the highway and turned to hop back just as fast. There is something a bit disconcerting staring a large animal in the eye in front of your rig at about 50 mph. Fortunately she was quick. They are amazing creatures and fortnately we all went home safe.
Talk with you soon..
Thanks for the messages Cathy Alice and Linda. Linda- you really do live in God's country, just like my sister-in-law Mary. Mary has turkeys, deer, and cougars to contend with, moose are quite the target. We get to watch out for the most dangerous animal of all here- PEOPLE! E mail me sometime-

Good Friday Morning! My trip on The long and sometimes winding road is taking another turn today. I am still awaiting a release- these darn lab folks test my blood every day and today my hematacrit is low enough that I will be transfused with two units of whole blood. (All day thing.) This is my longest stay at 7 days so far so the record continues to be broken. Have a great weekend everyone- I hope I can join you soon! Greg
Hope time goes quickly for you today. Seach and view some Stockholm Syndrome on u tube if you can. Love, Big A in 'braska
I hope you can go home soon too!! Stay relaxed and think happy thoughts!! I heard the weather is gorgeous outside.....I am not able to see anything at my work area! Hope you will be able to enjoy the sunshine with Yvonne soon!! Live Strong and Happy! :-)
