Welcome to my Blog
I chose the title of this blog to go with a Beatles song from 1969. The title made sense in October of 2009 because fighting cancer might be a drawn out challenge. I take inspiration where I can, and hope to motivate with my musings about music, my status and anything else related to life. Anyone can post comments; no sign in or account is needed, just click on the comments section towards the bottom of the post and write me a note. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. Live Happy- Greg

Enjoy your weekend and the week ahead. A clear calendar sounds wonderful. Your get-a-way sounded wonderful. As I like to say, sometimes, it is nice to "get out of dodge"!!! Thoughts and prayers your way.
Mary-Beth of the ECC!
Hello Greg & Yvonne! Wonderful to read about your mini vaca. I bet it felt great to be away from hospitals!! Stay well. Sending happy thoughts. Jackie
Glad you could get away and enjoyed seeing you and Yvonne. Here's to some time away from all that stuff.
Love, Cathy
Ah, a visit to the former Multnomah County Poor Farm, now a McMenemins! Capt. X used to cavort in that area a long time ago. Dipped for smelt in the nearby Sandy River. Enjoyed the view at Rooster Rock State Park just up the road. Watched the greyhounds chase Rusty up at MKC. Good times! I do hope you were able to enjoy a Hammerhead Ale or a Rabbit Red while there. Enjoy the 'rest' week, and LiveSTRONG!
Greg & Yvonne:
Glad you had a chance to get away. Big Love right back to you both. Hope to see you soon!

Greg & Yvonne,
The kids and I are praying for you and the family! I'd love to see you guys again if for a few minutes. If you get down this way anytime soon.

Enjoyed the pictures and the post. So glad you are away from the hospitals and were able to take a little trip.
Hope you took some of those tomatoes home! :-) You guys look good. Fleetwood Mac is one of my favorite groups. We are still having a nice fall-today is CSC's homecoming and it is sunny and 85. Did the 5K this morning though, as par for the course around here, it was actually 3.4 miles and not marked well to boot so I followed 2 of the college students an extra block and half the wrong way. More pancakes for me! The ash trees in the valleys are all turning yellow and the prairie grasses are all kinds of colors. As the Chicago song says you'll be feeling stronger every day!
love and prayers,
Mary D.
And thanks for the great package!
Great photos. I'm glad you got some well deserved R&R. Hope you are feeling 100% very soon !

Yes, Capt X you and I have many a shared memory. I hope you didn't cavort too much at Rooster Rock, you know the nude beach... Yvonne and I were able to help out an Enumclaw friend today plant 4600 blueberry plants for his new u-pick. (I supervised the 50 volunteers) We did sample the wares, I wish I could've sample much more but still have some issues with alcohol. I will edit and show a picture or two of that. Nice to hear from so many, Skip- how's that family and OSU? ECC- if I can make two days, I am still steering for a longer vacation back east... Way to go Mary, I am sure you were your age group winner. Soup's on tonight, it's cold here!
Great pictures you shared with us here!! Eating all that lovely tomatoes will create an environment that the bad cancer cells do not like!! Eat more food that make the bad go away and the good stay!! I heard more fruit and vegetables, all organic food, more fresh air, everything good for your body will kick the you know what of cancer cells. Thoughts and prayers are still going your way! Live Happy and Strong! :-)
Trust me Alice, I am making a good dent in all of the tomatoes we received. We also got some from Yvonne's mom Dolores. So many we will have to freeze some. A little salt or pepper and eat is what I do!
Greg, glad you guys are back , relax and enjoy. Thinking about you every day . We still have sunshine but the end is coming Thursday. Now we are getting lots of apples. lOVE dAD AND aLICE
There is nothing better than a get-a-way to make you feel better. Love to see your pictures! Have a wonderful relaxing week - hopefully each day finds you feeling more like yourself again.
Mary-B of the ECC has a great bumbadooda(?sp) salad recipe for tomatoes that you dip french or italian bread in... it is delicious.
Edie, or Mary-B- I'd like to see that recipe, if nothing else the name alone sounds good!
