It is time to teach some people how to dance. I don't know if you the reader are one of those people, I know I sure could use some help. Thanks to Carol who reminded me that I like Ska music, I was reminded that during the late 70's and early 80's the post punk crowd was heavily into Ska. A style of music first brewed in Jamaica in the 1950's. Reggae actually came from Ska, then went on it's own. Ska was reborn a few times since the 1950's but generally kept the danceable aspects all along. The attached video might make you laugh instead of dance, and it might frighten those easily scared during our Halloween time. I chose One Step Beyond from Madness as my title today since it made me want to walk more, dance, or just get moving. I seem to be in a good remission now, my blood clot issue is also improving so I can exercise more, eat more, and enjoy life more. With every positive there is a step back or two. This time it is my very thin skin, and me running into things ripping the skin open. I always have an open sore or bleeding that won't stop. Then to top it all off our bathroom plumbing sprung a leak, Sadie developed an infection, and I need dental work (no dental insurance, dooh!) We were planning a trip to Boston that has to be delayed again to get these expenses covered... I am not complaining, we can eat rice and potatoes for awhile. :) Sadie is on the mend, the plumber sent us the bill, and payday is just around the corner. My health insurance is actually going down next year almost $80 a month since the County switched from Aetna to Regence. Good and not so good news abounds! Please enjoy the video, and live happy.
Welcome to my Blog
I chose the title of this blog to go with a Beatles song from 1969. The title made sense in October of 2009 because fighting cancer might be a drawn out challenge. I take inspiration where I can, and hope to motivate with my musings about music, my status and anything else related to life. Anyone can post comments; no sign in or account is needed, just click on the comments section towards the bottom of the post and write me a note. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. Live Happy- Greg

Good that you are feeling better. That's the main thing.

Is the thin skin from graft vs. Host disease?
We are not sure, but think that the thin skin is genetic! Not... It is really from prednisone and probably the fragmin blood thinner I have to take. The prednisone is almost down to nothing, unfortunately I have to give myself the fragmin shots for at least five more months.
Well, 'Thin skinned' would not have been one of the descriptions I would have ascribed to you. Hang in there, this too shall pass.
So if you like an alternative sound, try these guys; http://www.jujuba.org. A Portland based band who I got to enjoy down at Bend Fall Fest last month.
LiveSTRONG!
I am LAUGHING at the video, early MTV flashback! The guy at the end with the "wife beater" t-shirt doing that crazy footwork, LOL, thanks for the chuckle.
Thin skinned is better than being thick skulled, yes??
Hugs, Sue
Hey Sue, I was wondering when someone would remember the old MTV days. Sorry about the Wisconsin loss, they looked like a for sure BCS team... Maybe Alabama and the other undefeated teams will lose too.
Ah, ska...when people used to dance and get a work-out. And then I had to click on the Madness-"Our House" video, too. Yes, nice to be reminded of our youth when you could enjoy something in a carefree fashion and not think about the other shoe dropping. The curse of growing up is knowing there always good and bad. Sorry to hear about the thin skin, I know how I bump around, that would be rough. Hope that it heals up. We'll just keep focusing on the good stuff.
Hang in there!

Got the same thin skin and have for a number of years, went to the gun show last Saturday(was disappointed) and someone with a rifle over their shoulder hooked the back of my hand with a gunsight, walked around dripping for awhile, just live with it, most of the time I do not even know it has happened until I feel something sticky OH Well !

That video made me want to get up and join the dance party !! We were hoping to see you out this way soon, but maybe in the near future?
So happy to hear you are able to get around a bit more and enjoy some nice meals. Will the skin thicken back up? In the meantime be careful getting around.
The skin should return to normal when I can get off of the so called life-saving drugs. I only mentioned it because every time I rip the skin good I have to quit swimming while it heals up. It's all about the water!
Hi Greg! Glad to hear Sadie is also on the mend.
Unexpected homeowner repairs are always a treat!
You know we will welcome your visit whenever it is a good time for you & Yvonne. Weather is a little on the dreary side right now and not a really pretty Fall - lots of gold, green, and brown leaves. Look forward to your blogs :)
Take care
Very interesting song and dance!! I enjoy any form of dance! On Monday, half of B & A went shooting at the Kenmore gun range. Captain G. Thomas showed us how to be safe and have fun too!! It was awesome!! :-) Glad to know you are doing good, just be careful with the thin skin condition! Live Strong and Happy!! :-)
thinking about you.... hope all gets better soon and you are off to Boston... take care TRex
Edie and T-Rex; If good news could send me to Boston, I would be on the plane today. Our youngest son Mikhael (recent college grad) got a pretty good job starting next week. And my most recent weekly lab test still shows mostly improvement, definitely no detectable cancer. Thanks for the inspiration!
Alice- I saw the photos on FB, no one got hurt so it must have been a good day!
