Hi Yvonne, I will be there, except I did not see a date. Please take care of yourself...you had fought hard along side Greg too!! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your children. See you there!

Peace be with you, my first "best friend" Greg. We never quite arranged the get-together we'd talked about - - I just returned to town Sunday - - but I will toast you this Saturday with all the friends, family, loved ones you made since we first met back in the 1960's, and I am full of hope that we will meet again.

Take care of yourself Yvonne!!!! I know how heart broken you are....I know!! My heart breaks for you just thinking of you!! Prayers for you to find peace in this difficult time!! Hugs!!
I didn't know Greg well. The times I met him showed him as a man full of grace, especially during his illness. I climbed the tower in support of him two years ago. He was there in support of us, the ARFF Unit. I have heard many wonderful stories about him. I wish I could have worked for him. My prayers are with you.
Yvonne, Greg was a classmate of mine in the National Academy and a true friend. His love of life and strong spirit showed through to all of us that knew him. One of my favorite memories was karaoke with him at the boardroom. "Needs more Cowbell". Rest in peace my friend.

I want to encourage Aloha shirts at the memorial service but there is no pressure. This will be a celebration of life.

My heart aches for you Yvonne. I'd be there if I could, but I can't. But I'm glad for the time Alan and I spent with him. His last words to me keep playing over and over
Yvonne, I just found out about 20 minutes ago from Nick Metz. I can't begin to say how sad I am for you and your family. I wished we hadn't drifted apart after the academy but people get busy with their families and everything else. I have to sing at a wedding tomorrow at 2:00 in Bellevue otherwise I would be there. I take some comfort in knowing that I will see Greg again someday. NOthing else I can say but I hope God heals your pain soon.
Yvonne, Blessings, Prayers to you and your family.

Hey Greg! Wow, what a great Celebration of Life ceremony that was today, huh? Natalie did a great job of speaking for the family, but she gets that gift of performing well in front of a crowd from you, doesn't she? And Chaplain Joel? He hit it out of the park as far as representing what you wanted, don't you think? And who knew that Cameron could entertain and inform a crowd better after he retired? I sure enjoyed seeing all the old faces from KCSO, the City of SeaTac, and the Prosecutors Office, although we always say it could have been under better circumstances. And wow, dude, if I had known all along how much Yvonne was the anchor of the family, I wouldn't have given you so much credit! She is truly a jewel, and shame on you for not telling us more about her and the rest of your wonderful family all these years we have known each other. I wish Edie could have been here today. She knows us only through your blog and a short visit, but I think there were a couple hundred people who missed giving her a big hug and a 'Thank you' today. Well, I guess our conversations will get more private from now on. Your blog has been such an inspiration the past couple of years, but it is probably time to communicate on a more spiritual level now. I will continue to honor our friendship, and draw strength from your indomitable spirit.
I also promise to remember to do two things, no matter what happens in the future. LiveSTRONG and Happy. Fair winds and following seas, my friend!
Captain X - I so wish I could've been there to celebrate Greg's life with all of you. We have embraced Greg, Yvonne, family, & friends as our family & friends (the ECC). A few words that quickly come to mind of who Greg was to me are: brother, friend, amazing, brave, inspirational, and strong. I will also miss him terribly and treasure the messages and inspiration he gave to all of us in his blog - especially to "Live Happy". He had such wonderful people that surrounded him - what a lucky man.
Greg was and is an inspiration to me. He lived life to the fullest, even while fighting cancer. Now he's in the loving arms of God. Your Sister, Cathy
It was so good to see everybody at the memorial service. I really appreciate everybody that stepped up and volunteered their time to pull this off.
I know this was short notice and some of you that wanted to attend could not. I thank you for reaching out and being a constant support.
There will be another posting soon to come. Yvonne
