Welcome to my Blog

I chose the title of this blog to go with a Beatles song from 1969. The title made sense in October of 2009 because fighting cancer might be a drawn out challenge. I take inspiration where I can, and hope to motivate with my musings about music, my status and anything else related to life. Anyone can post comments; no sign in or account is needed, just click on the comments section towards the bottom of the post and write me a note. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. Live Happy- Greg

"In My Life" Cashed in

Greg/Yvonne Waimea Canyon, Kauai
"In My Life" was an early John Lennon song from 1965 and the Rubber Soul album. Paul may have contributed to some of the song. Many artists covered the song, this Johnny Cash version has been noted to be one of the best. I could only find this version with associated pictures in the video. Johnny's version is slower, maybe more heartfelt- beauty in the eye of the beholder?

That pic reminds me that Les and I need to get busy planning our Hawaii trip. He can't decide which Islands to visit. Maybe the big Isalnf? But Kauai looks beautiful as well! Maybe both. Hope all is going well for you

Thank you for this posting, I have never heard this version before!! Johnny sounded truly sincere and it reminded me of a recent movie called "Up"! It's an animation, but it's a really sweet movie about a couple, how they met, how they lived their lives and then grow old together!!! :-) I love the "talking dogs" in there too!! Take care and get stronger day by day!! :-)

Hi Greg.. sorry for disappearing for awhile. I had the chance to participate in our first dog sled races.. what a hoot.. I was asked to help dogs get from their truck to the starting line. Talk about excitement. I have never heard so many dogs yipping. I am most certain this will be an annual event for the family. The trails are only 7 miles away and are in great shape despite the low snow levels. We had two teams from the West side stay at our place so for the weekend we were balancing 24 dogs on the property.

Our Christmas mule is settling in well thanks to my husband. He is spending a great deal of time getting her used to people and treats.. and it is really working.

I made it to the gym today.. finally. They have great equipment and not many who want to use it. The policy is that if you want to work out, you get an hour a day to do so. Can't beat that!

I think of you often and hope you are doing well. I missed you at the Intel sub-committee meeting and will hope to see you at Spring WASPC.

Great to hear from folks today. Linda, your dog sled and snow adventures coupled with the Mule success is welcome news. We have some sun breaks to make it seem almost spring like here on the west side. I will be in the joint (hospital) for the next five days but will get out some posts anyway- I am feeling way too good to sit around doing nothing. :)
