Blackbird can be inspiring to all of us, to me it also made me wish I had room to thank every person who has been there to inspire me, smiled my way, offered words of encouragement, given me energy drinks, sent cards, e mails, given recommendations like "fight hard", called me out, etc. I hear "Blackbird" every day when I am blessed like this. Here are the truncated lyrics for your own interpretation:
"Blackbird singing in the dead of night-
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life- You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night-
All your life- You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night-
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life- You were only waiting for this moment to be free.
Blackbird fly Blackbird fly- Into the light of the dark black night. (repeat)
All your life- You were only waiting for this moment to be free.
Blackbird fly Blackbird fly- Into the light of the dark black night. (repeat)
You were only waiting for this moment to arise. (repeat)"

Your are up as early as Les! I always loved John Denver's music. Mom and Dad took me to a Portland cncert in the mid 70's. Hope you are getting stronger every day. Love, Cathy
Keep Les's Aunt Marie in your prayers as she battles Breast cancer. She had a masectomy on Mon.
I wish I could remember the comedian who did an impression of Jimmy Stewart singing 'Blackbird'. Funniest song ever! Well, except William Shatner's only supposedly serious musical album. Rest and enjoy this weekend!

Greg, our lap top is working again. Stay well and keep us informed . Love Dad and Alice
I love John Denver, too. Cathy that is great you saw him in concert. I love anything sappy from the 1970s. (Can you say The Carpenters?!)
Hope Greg is feeling recovered from the latest chemo and eating hearty.
