Welcome to my Blog

I chose the title of this blog to go with a Beatles song from 1969. The title made sense in October of 2009 because fighting cancer might be a drawn out challenge. I take inspiration where I can, and hope to motivate with my musings about music, my status and anything else related to life. Anyone can post comments; no sign in or account is needed, just click on the comments section towards the bottom of the post and write me a note. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. Live Happy- Greg

"Knockin' On Heaven's Door"

Today is the memorial for Pierce County Sheriff's Deputy Kent Mundell. I included the original Bob Dylan version of Knockin' On Heaven's Door to pay respect to Deputy Mundell, his family, and friends. I hope to see fellow law enforcement professionals and members of our community at the memorial this afternoon. Serve proud!

Yes, thank you for helping us remember Deputy Mundell and his family. Our prayers go out...
Quite a few years ago I heard this song after leaving a nursing home where I used to visit an older man who had no family left. His name was Fran Martin. He died shortly after that. Last night Alan and I had the strangest experience out running. It was dark and icy fog was settling in. We were on a gravel road where the Sand Hills start and everything around us was just eerie shapes-rising hills, lone trees, fenceposts in the fog. But directly above us it was winter crisp and clear and we could see the Milky Way.
A very special Christmas we had at Canon Beach. So glad we could all be together. We made it home fine with no bad roads except a little snow in Logan Canyon. We have a foot of snow here and is supposed to be below zero tomorrow.
Stay strong!

Thanks Mary, your description of the run makes me miss running a lot! I start chemo session 5 tomorrow (Wednesday). Deputy's Mundell's memorial was very powerful. We are glad your trip home was safe. This winter has been tough on you, same old rain and gray here. I will be praying for some sun tomorrow! Greg
