Welcome to my Blog

I chose the title of this blog to go with a Beatles song from 1969. The title made sense in October of 2009 because fighting cancer might be a drawn out challenge. I take inspiration where I can, and hope to motivate with my musings about music, my status and anything else related to life. Anyone can post comments; no sign in or account is needed, just click on the comments section towards the bottom of the post and write me a note. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. Live Happy- Greg

Strawberry Fields Forever by Ben Harper

Happy Saturday!  It's been awhile since I posted anything other than big climb information...I am still looking for good cover versions of Beatles songs and included one today. I am feeling very strong and just finished a stretch of two weeks working without needing a break. That sounds small, but it is a first for me since chemo started. Yvonne and I are going to Seattle today to get some more information on the big climb and will also do some sight-seeing. I begin chemo session #6 of 8 on January 27- almost 3/4 done.We are very thankful for the outpouring of donations and support for Team I Got A Fever, the team has already surpassed our initial fund raising goal!

Ben Harper adds his unique style to this cover version of one the Beatles best known and loved songs.

I always learn something new on here! I'm out of touch with the music scene, guess I better get with it! Dad, if you log in today I hope everything's ok. Let us know on here how it's going. I worry about you two down there. Glad to hear that you're doing so good, Greg.
Love, Cathy

Greg, good to hear you're feeling stronger. Keep it going! Congratulations on a successful launch of the big climb. good work.
Johnny, glad to hear you and Alice are safe. We were wondering about you with all the bad weather and mud going on.
Ben Harper is looking good. I see he brings his whole orchestra with him when he performs.
best wishes from us

Greg, glad you're doing well enough for the climb. I'll be joining you guys. As far as the Beatles covers, have you heard Los Lobos' version of "Tomorrow Never Knows"? They performed it live - and immaculately - for a PBS special back in '93. It's on their box set Mas y Mas but I couln't locate any YouTube clips.
Take care, Gregg
