Welcome to my Blog

I chose the title of this blog to go with a Beatles song from 1969. The title made sense in October of 2009 because fighting cancer might be a drawn out challenge. I take inspiration where I can, and hope to motivate with my musings about music, my status and anything else related to life. Anyone can post comments; no sign in or account is needed, just click on the comments section towards the bottom of the post and write me a note. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. Live Happy- Greg

The Big Climb

Hello to all potential climbers or supporters! My wife Yvonne captained a large team of caring individuals last year to raise funds and support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Washington climbing Seattle's tallest building- the Columbia or BAC tower. We climb 76 stories or about 1311 steps.  Our 2010 team raised over $14,000. We are at it again for 2011. I think everyone who participated in 2010 had a good time climbing or racing, and supporting a good cause. I have received research and other benefits as a result of our local LLS organization since 2009, for many the LLS makes the difference in saving a life. Yvonne has started another team for 2011 under the name "The Long and Winding Road."     If you would like to climb, race, or support the team or individual team members you can go to this link: http://www.llswa.org/site/TR/Events/BigClimb?team_id=34370&pg=team&fr_id=1160

There are click-able buttons to donate, register, and learn more. If registering for the team, there is a fee (tax deductible). During checkout you can use a discount code from a six pack of pyramid beer that         I could not drink   to save $5.00 use: 076420911189   Registration will propably end around the second week of March or when the event fills up with 6000 participants. Last year it filled up around the first of March. Our team page on the LLSWA site will continue to be updated as we move along.

If you would like to donate, the site accepts secure credit cards or you can mail a check or contact the climber you would like to support for other options. If mailing a check to the LLS please write the name of the person or team you are supporting on the check. Here is their address:   The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Attn: Big Climb, 530 Dexter Ave. N., Suite 300, Seattle, WA 98109

Either way you help, we are very thankful. The people who will be diagnosed or are already battling blood cancers like Leukemia or Lymphoma have seen many improvements over the past ten years and the future looks brighter as long as research continues.

Love, Greg

A 47 inch vizio.we need to order HD service to see how that looks. Yeah Ryan gave his tickets to the last Blazer game, they looked tired, so mammy injuries. I think they play way too many games hence the injuries. It's all about the money. Even Lamarcus has a sore knee. Glad you are enjoying the weather. I'm ok on another pill for scleroderma.
Love, Cathy
Greg we will keep you in our prayers

Dad, use your cell phone and call me anytime... Alice, either way you decide is fine, knowing you support us is all I need to know. I am home from what seemed like a long day of one outpatient chemo infusion. So far so good. I had a bone marrow biopsy yesterday. I looked at the marrow and blood specimens- to my practiced eye the samples looked real good. The pathologist report will be in by Friday or early next week. I had a great doctor take the marrow from my hip, the only pain was when they removed the marrow and bone for about 5 seconds (mainly a pressure pain.) Living Happy! Greg

....Man, we know all about the long outpatient days, they SUCK! Seriously, be done with it and go home!! :-D And for sure we understand about great/good/iffy aspirations. Did your marrow look like the worm in the tequila bottle? It's pretty amazing, all things considered. I think they should give you guys a shot of hootch before, during, and after a biopsy. Oh, and some for the caregiver, too! Best to you and your lab results.

This is off subject, but it's awful how many police officers have been gunned down this past month. So hard to understand

Hey from the BigA. Checking in, thanks for the updates. We've been having a bit of January thaw which means mud season. Mary's dad got JD's old Sony TV which is a huge improvement for him. We are hoping for the best so you can come check out your Nebraska roots!

Cathy and Alan- Yes there have been a lot of shootings, and violence against law enforcement. The pendulum seems to have swung away from sanity lately. I hope a spring or early summer visit to NE happens!
