Welcome to my Blog

I chose the title of this blog to go with a Beatles song from 1969. The title made sense in October of 2009 because fighting cancer might be a drawn out challenge. I take inspiration where I can, and hope to motivate with my musings about music, my status and anything else related to life. Anyone can post comments; no sign in or account is needed, just click on the comments section towards the bottom of the post and write me a note. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. Live Happy- Greg

"Rain"

Believe it or not, we are experiencing rain in the greater Seattle area! So much drippy soggy stuff that I couldn't sleep well listening to it last night. The Beatles (John) wrote about rain in 1966. The song was released as a b-side of the "Paperback Writer" single and did not get a lot of radio play at the time. John was pining about the rain that the group experienced while they were touring Australia in 1966, and how people reacted to it. "Rain" was one of the first songs to include some trickery from the studio including backwards vocals on tape. The ending lyrics are my favorite being a northwest native: "Can you hear me- that when it rains and shines it's just a state of mind - Can you hear me - Can you hear me..."

I hope everyone has a sunny day during our typical northwest rain, it is a state of mind!

PS: I am feeling great just a few days away from inpatient chemo again, the best I have felt since my diagnosis.

Morning Greg,
It was even raining over here yesterday.. but now we are hearing of snow. It is an interesting time in the fall.. cool crisp days with the smell of sage in the air.. a smell that typically reminds me of summer.

I hooked up with the mushing group over here and plans are already underway for the Super Mush races at the end of January. They are having a skijouring race this year so you and Sadie can head this way to go for a ski.

I will be heading back to the area on the 4th through 6th and would like to stop in if you are available for a visit. I will be attending a meeting in Olympia on the 6th but running around the rest of the time.

Glad you are feeling good and I wish you continued high spirits and positive thoughts.

Best wishes!!

Catching up on the posts from over the weekend since we don't have internet at home. Great pictures to go along with all the good positive energy! Glad to hear you got together with Cathy and Les. It was snowing and raining here all day yesterday. Ugh. But for awhile, big floating flakes. On our run on Sat., we were getting home in the dark and a perfect hole in the clouds showed the crescent moon.
Keep riding! You do look great! Keep smiling!

You have been in my prayers and thoughts daily since I learned of your diagnosis. If there is anything at all that I can do to help, please let me know. God bless you and your family and friends during this difficult season of your life. In the words of one of my favorite movie characters, "I am now, and have always been, your friend."
