Welcome to my Blog

I chose the title of this blog to go with a Beatles song from 1969. The title made sense in October of 2009 because fighting cancer might be a drawn out challenge. I take inspiration where I can, and hope to motivate with my musings about music, my status and anything else related to life. Anyone can post comments; no sign in or account is needed, just click on the comments section towards the bottom of the post and write me a note. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. Live Happy- Greg

"Sexie Sadie"

Today's post is named for another Beatles song from 1968, written by John at the end of his journey to India and his look at eastern philosophy and transcendental meditation. John became to disgust the "guru" due to what he thought that the Maharishi was doing with a woman, penning an ode to him in a rather negative light.

My reason for using the song title is actually about a dog and unconditional love. Yes, that is me and our dog Sadie in the picture. Twenty guesses on how she got her name? We were two of the luckiest people alive on 10-20-2009 when we visited the +100 people who work out of the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center, in Kent, WA serving the King County Sheriff's Office from our CID offices. I hadn't been to work in over a month, and to be quite honest it has been difficult for me since work is a very important part of my life. So I took my best friend. She got more butt scratches, smiles, pats on the head, snacks, and love than she has seen in a long time. Me too in a way. My eyes had to light up upon seeing and talking to as many of the great KCSO staff as I could who were there that day. In my case I was able to say thanks to so many people who have supported me in my struggle, and offered so much.

We got home after a three hour tour and for the first time in years Sadie actually cuddled with me instead of Yvonne during our routine wind down time at night. She showed me unconditional love that I will strive to show to others as I next make my travels to work, the hospital, or at home.

They get you every time!

Love, Greg

Dog is God spelled backwards. God put them on earth to give unconditional love, just as he sent his only son to forgive our sins. I don't deserve it, but I thank him every day for his sacrifice. Love, Cathy

Unconditional love is what this world need more of!!! :-) Sadie is a pretty girl. Very good picture of you and Sadie. As for work, please do take it easy and don't work too hard!! You tend to forget about yourself when you work, please take time for yourself!! :-)

Don't feel too badly that your pup got more attention than you did during your visit. Next time just remember to hang your tongue out and thump your rear leg. I am sure the pats and butt scratches will flow your way.
I had a cat named Sadie because of the same song. Doc Watson has a good tune with the same title that you may be aware of.
I am thinking of you while watching the waves and am hoping that some of their force and power will flow your way.

Glad to hear you are getting out to see folks at work. Way to go on the 3 miles! Yes, animals are great for unconditional love. Would you believe even cats?! You just need more of them to get back the same amount as a dog. So that is why we have so many. Animals remind us what is really important. Like family.
You were with us running last night. In 40 degree cold, sleeting rain and wind, had on too many clothes, soaked with water, shoes heavy with mud.
Sending good thoughts and prayers. Great picture! Keep smiling!

Yes, Cats are great, too. Just ask Alicia! I can't take credit for Dog spelled backwards, I read it somewhere; but I like it.

Great to hear about Sadie! Remember when we were diving for rocks with Mocha? Bring Sadie over and we will introduce the two and let them go. There are more than enough rocks to go around!
