Happy Friday, it's almost Christmas week. I hope everyone is ready for a new year and better times. I am still waiting on final decisions from the insurance co. and doctors, but am feeling pretty good. I just completed loading some Beatles songs on the itunes and almost forgot about this 1968 George Harrison gem in the rough. The group actually recorded part of The Inner Light in India during one of their Indian journeys. It was the "B" side to the Lady Madonna single from 1968 and the first time a George song had been put on a single. If you've seen the Concert for George (held just after his death in 2001) you might have seen Jeff Lynne of ELO complete a haunting performance of The Inner Light. Other than that, the song was included in the obscure Beatles Rarities, and later on the Past Master Volume 2 album. Here are some of the simple lyrics: "With out going out of my door I can know all things of earth, with out looking out of my window I can know things of heaven."
What's it mean to you? (George got it from a Sanskrit translation of the Tao Te Ching.)
Welcome to my Blog
I chose the title of this blog to go with a Beatles song from 1969. The title made sense in October of 2009 because fighting cancer might be a drawn out challenge. I take inspiration where I can, and hope to motivate with my musings about music, my status and anything else related to life. Anyone can post comments; no sign in or account is needed, just click on the comments section towards the bottom of the post and write me a note. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. Live Happy- Greg

I looked up the Tao Te Ching. Takes awhile to read about it. sounds like George was searching for an answer to why he exists. That philosopy teaches you to be a good, moral person, but no mention of Jesus. I believe what's in the Bible and that God sent his only Son as a final atonement for our sins. I need Jesus because I mess up. For me this life would be meaningless without Gods love. I love you guys and look forward to seeing you. Come down here before the beach if possible! Love, Cathy
PS I saw cross's like the one above on my early morning walks, so beautioful.
I enjoy this song and it reminded me of some of the Cambodian music I used to listen to when I was married to my ex. He is Cambodian. Their language is Sanskrit, it was very hard for me to learn. I can only say in Cambodian "How are you?", "Have a good day!" "I am Chinese and I do not speak Cambodian." and my favourite: "I am very tired, can we please go home!" He loves to party and he loves to drink....I had to always try to stop him and begged him to take me home before he gets out of control. He is "the" Cambodian Peter Pan!! I found peace and quiet after the divorce and I am very grateful for that. Thank you for posting this lovely song and for my personal taste in good looking men, I think George is very handsome and I also feel he is steady like a rock. He has the sensibility that I love in a man just by listening to the lyrics I heard from this song! I do not really know him or the members of the Beatles, perhaps I should read up about them. Hope you are getting some good rest at home and a lot of very healthy food! Thank you again for posting all the wonderful and powerful songs, I really enjoy them. Have a good weekend! Peace and Love :-)
