| Chemo pose, my hair what there is is a little darker... |
Happy Saturday! I trust someone out there is the blogosphere has something other than rain to look at. Freedom and chaos seems to be ruling the day with people looking to strip themselves of the dictators who have been running the show for years and years. I hope the violence stops and freedom rings. "Flying" was a collectively written Beatles song with everyone credited. Lots of spacey blues that led to an interesting segment on the Magical Mystery Tour movie. I had some good news to share- Flying just makes me happy.
I was in the middle of chemo this week. I started on Wednesday the 26th, then as we arrived Friday for day two we were told "sorry, no chemo for you today." The best we could tell it was because of the snow in New York (why we have to get it shipped from there is beyond me.) We went into the weekend not knowing what would happen next week...
My Doctor must have heard I was not as happy as I could be, so he called me Saturday around lunch time. He is traveling to Nicaragua this coming week to serve in a clinic, and knew he wouldn't see me for a bit. He then mentioned that he received my bone marrow biopsy results from this past Tuesday... My marrow was cancer free. I got a little excited as I have only had one chemo round. He did not have a good explanation for me just yet, other than he was very surprised too. I still have some more tests including a PET scan next week. The doctor in me thinks that my cancer relapse manifested itself as a lymphoma instead of leukemia- which might be easier to deal with.

Good news with the bone marrow! Yes there are big changes in the middle east. Kind of reminds me of Iran in the late 70's. People need to be free. Keeping you in our prayers for good health.

Greg,
Good to see you smiling and in high spirits. It has been quite a while since I commented, but I have been following your blog and praying for you every day. I will be visiting my family in February. I would like to visit with you while I'm in town. I will contact you after the 15th to see if that will be possible. In the meantime: May the LORD bless you and keep you; May the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; May the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6: 24-26
Bruce- I would love to see you when you come to town. I am very flexible with my time right now! God bless you and yours.

Great news on the bone marrow results. Minus 15 F at the house this morning with a stout 20mph north wind, no wonder houses are cheap here! BigA
Wow Alan, sounds like you know what a real winter is like. Cathy and I are usually pretty lucky. Greg
Greg, hang in there. I am 52 yrs. old and had a bone marrow transplant due to AML in April of 2010. By the grace of God I am doing quite well in my recovery. Back working out at the gym in Dec. and back to work after 13 months out in Jan. 2011. Keep laughing ang listening to the good tunes and everything will be fine. God bless!

Bob, thank you for sharing. Our new birthdays are only a month apart. I am feeling the prayers and support and am determined that this relapse will be short lived and remission is just around the corner. Greg

Greg, I went to the dermatologist and she said the the spots on my leg were a form of the athletes foot that I had on my feet - told me to use a generic form of lamisil and be patient because it takes a while to heal. No big deal.
Love, Dad and Alice
Thank you for the info. Congratulations!
