Sometimes things are said or unsaid. Either way- we can all make a mistake or miss an opportunity. After my diagnoses, treatment, relapse and unknown new treatment I am trying much harder to capitalize on the moment. I was receiving two bags of blood today and answering e mails and talking to my nurses. My main nurse took the time during a break to ask a lot of questions making my experience smoother and less complicated. I of course did not return the favor immediately and didn't really think about it much until I was already on my way home. My lesson learned, I will aim towards taking advantage of the opportunities when they occur. I hope you think of the same principal when you next have a conversation with someone and the discussion is more important than talking about the weather.
Paul McCartney wrote "Things" for the movie A Hard Days Night in 1964. He was dating Jane Asher at the time. This song plays out real emotions showing that the Beatles were moving into more mature themes after two albums of basic love songs. The video is raw and captures the simple technology for the time very well.
I have been done with chemo session #1 and went home Monday January 10. Since then I have been having daily blood draws and due to the mixture being less than perfect I received a transfusion of platelets and two bags of blood. Yvonne and I were going to go to San Diego Jan 13-18 but we had to cancel at the last minute. I will continue with daily blood testing and whatever is needed until at least Monday. Thanks for the kindness- I hope I can repay the consideration at our next meeting. Until later- Live Happy! Greg
Welcome to my Blog
I chose the title of this blog to go with a Beatles song from 1969. The title made sense in October of 2009 because fighting cancer might be a drawn out challenge. I take inspiration where I can, and hope to motivate with my musings about music, my status and anything else related to life. Anyone can post comments; no sign in or account is needed, just click on the comments section towards the bottom of the post and write me a note. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. Live Happy- Greg

Greg,
Just got back from Death Valley where we saw some amazing geological features AND viewed a lake that has suddenly appeared...apparently due to the unusual amount of rain that the place has been receiving (now I wonder why THAT might be?). Just wanted to check in. I will be calling you soon.

Hi Greg - It's a miracle! I finally figured out how to post a comment. I think that's a good sign! I hope things are looking better for you and those little buggers are going into remission. If you need some ideas for good movies to see, check out "True Grit" and "The King's Speech." Both are excellent. Stay in touch!
Hi Greg, Think happy, positive and peaceful thoughts. Will be pulling for you with everyone who care about your fight! Take care!

Chief, I hope God continues to guide the doctors in your treatment. I know Deputy Meeks' wife beat it so miracles do happen.
Thanks for the well wishes everyone. There have been several tragedies in our community this past week, please think good thoughts for those who are hurting right now. A lot of folks need support and hugs. Love, Greg
Hey Greg,
Thinking of you and our recent conversation at Joe P's lunch. What a shock this was, considering we were so recently talking about things going well. Yet another reminder to all of us to savor the moment and take nothing for granted. Keep the Beatlemania coming, along with your incredibly positive outlook.
Always thinking of you - Carol
Greg,We have to ask how things are going.Send some info when you can.Love you and Yvonne. Dad And Alice
Hi Dad, up and down is the best way I can describe my attempt to get back into remission. I am having daily lab tests done and won't know until later this week if or when there will be more chemo. Greg
