For us late baby boomers Bruce Springsteen and his breakthrough 1975 album Born To Run had to have been listened to or remembered. The opening track was the power ballad "Thunder Road" - I just happened to start my workout up with this morning. Some lyrics resonated once again, let's just say I'm not the the only one who's had some trying times of late, and I took a lot of inspiration from the song, particularly the last lines of the song...
"And in the lonely cool before dawn
You hear their engines roaring on
But when you get to the porch they're gone
On the wind, so Mary climb in
It's a town full of losers
And I'm pulling out of here to win."
Welcome to my Blog
I chose the title of this blog to go with a Beatles song from 1969. The title made sense in October of 2009 because fighting cancer might be a drawn out challenge. I take inspiration where I can, and hope to motivate with my musings about music, my status and anything else related to life. Anyone can post comments; no sign in or account is needed, just click on the comments section towards the bottom of the post and write me a note. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. Yep, we've been listening to a lot of Springsteen these days on our local radio station. His music admits life is tough. Helps you realize you aren't alone in your daily struggle. Keep riding! We'll all hang tough together.
Les and I are looking forward to our visit. And my thoughts and prayers are for the families of the slain police officers. I remember how kind the police were to me the day I went up to Tacoma and got lost. Our justice system let those people down, he should have never been let out of jail. Sounds like your'e getting good workouts on the bike. See you guys Sat
Love, Cathy
