Welcome to my Blog

I chose the title of this blog to go with a Beatles song from 1969. The title made sense in October of 2009 because fighting cancer might be a drawn out challenge. I take inspiration where I can, and hope to motivate with my musings about music, my status and anything else related to life. Anyone can post comments; no sign in or account is needed, just click on the comments section towards the bottom of the post and write me a note. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. "Getting in Tune"

I am going off the grid a bit today to help remind myself about what is important in life. So, a song I remember from the 1970's post Beatles and recommended by my brother Alan at the time (that fits in well with now) is the Who's "Getting in Tune." At the time in the mid 70's I just thought a couple of lyrics were really cool, I went on later to discover that the Who completed Who's Next in 1971 after missing on an ambitious Lifehouse Project. The album has some great rock standards like Baba O'Riley, Won't Get Fooled Again, and Behind Blue Eyes. here are a couple of lyrics I remember:

"I get a little tired of having to say "Do you come here often?"
But when I look in your eyes and see the harmonies
And the heartaches soften"

"I've got it all here in my head
There's nothing more needs to be said
I'm just bangin' on my old piano
I'm getting in tune with the straight and narrow"

I'm getting in tune because I need to as I am leaving the hospital after a long 6 day unscheduled stay, hopefully before lunch time today. Live Happy- Greg

Yes, those Who tunes are some of the finest. Hope yesterday's fever is gone and you are feeling much stronger. And that you get to go home. TGIF! It has been a long "work" week there at the hospital for you. It is trying to snow here, cold and rainy again. But it's the weekend! Yay!
Enjoy your time at home. And rest.

Just got back from a short trip to Albuquerque. Glad to see you are back home. Hospitals take care of the body. Home is where you need to be to recover your peace of mind. You are always in my thoughts and prayers.
