Welcome to my Blog

I chose the title of this blog to go with a Beatles song from 1969. The title made sense in October of 2009 because fighting cancer might be a drawn out challenge. I take inspiration where I can, and hope to motivate with my musings about music, my status and anything else related to life. Anyone can post comments; no sign in or account is needed, just click on the comments section towards the bottom of the post and write me a note. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. Live Happy- Greg

"Birthday"

Yes, I turn the big Five Oh today! Tony, you can now call me 5-0. In 1968 I was a mere 8 when The Beatles had just returned from visits to India in and other far flung locales to write the album known by many as the White Album, actually entitled "The Beatles." It was supposed to be a return to their rock and roll roots. Birthday starts side A of the second LP in the set and of course has been re-recorded and used by many an artist and in many implications. Paul and John sing dueling lead vocals and actually co-wrote the song while at the recording session, unusual at the time.

This is me in hairier times at approximately age 6 months, kids of today don't always show off the cowlick!

I made it through session two of chemo and am looking forward to continued success in my battle thanks to all of the inspiration and well wishes. I hope to see you through my travels these next couple of weeks. Greg

Happy birthday to you. I wish the the best and a very happy 50th birthday! I'm so lucky i'm one of the few who get to see the disappointed look on your face when you open my gift which is never right. Well any present that has to do with the Beatles is out of the question i think you could open up your own gift shop with all the swag you own. So ill have to be creative. Everybody i know sends out their love and prayers and are with you.
Love Andrew

Man, do I miss KGON. Is Iris still a dj? We loved that station. I even had a chance to win a Porsche from them but I wasn't the one with right key. I love that Styx song, too.
Here's to Greg's next 50 years! We'll still be listening to the Beatles and Styx. The new stuff doesn't do much for me. That is why I like Ryan--he knows good music. Long live classic rock. And disco, too.

Happy Nov. 3!

Hey Greg.. welcome to the 50+ group. I clearly remember looking at that age group as true geezerdom.. now I are there too.

Hope you were able to do something fun. Glad you are home and will try to look you up over the next few days while in the area.
