After the strike against liberty and all that is good at Fort Hood yesterday I looked for an appropriate song to describe loss and spirit. Today is Officer Timothy Brenton's memorial and while many of us are there to show support, life continues and sometimes we just don't have the answer.
Five For Fighting (John Ondrasik) released "Superman" just before the 9-11 attacks and it went on to become a song of healing for the nation. John has organized many a memorial including albums to support the troops. I hope you listen to other Five For Fighting tunes like "Two Lights" and more, as there are many more similarly healing songs in the collection. Fight Hard, Live Happy- Greg

Yes, pray for the family's at Fort Hood and all our service men and women,
Cathy
Thank you for posting this beautiful song! :-)
Will be praying for the family of the fallen officer today!! We want all the law enforcement brothers and sisters to know we appreciate their selflessness everyday working on the streets to protect us!!
Thank you for the beautiful song. I had heard it many times but never knew who sang it or even understood the words and meaning behind it all. We will keep the Seattle police officer in our prayers as well as the folks in Texas and all those who protect us. Sometimes the world just doesn't make any sense.
I went running in the dark last night on our dirt road and all I could see were stars littering the sky. The milky way was right above me. And then I saw a falling star. Of course I made an immediate wish...that Greg and Cathy are cured.
Hope you are both feeling strong and having a good day.
Sending love and falling stars...
Greg, Alan is here for a couple of days.
Hope you had a good day.
Love, Dad and Alice
Thanks to all again, there is breaking news in Seattle that might mean some closure for the family! Stay tuned. G
Hi Greg, I think I saw you in the live streaming video at Komo4news at lunch hour when I was watching the start of the ceremony.....I think it was you! :-) I saw our Sheriff for sure and she was talking to Jim Gradden. I am very happy to know that the killer was captured and is now off the street!!!!! Hope you are enjoying the typical "Seattle in the Fall" kind of weather! :-) Take care!
